I QUIT!!!
I Just resigned my position as Vice President of the Sacramento Valley Bears. I needed to eliminate some of the drama in my life and their're about 80% of it. It's amazing... no matter how much good you wanna do, it's always never enough.
Here's to no more drama!

B.I.T.S. 2005...
So tonight we had our fist official BITS committee meeting. I'm so excited. BITS is the Sacramento version of IBR, but not as big. 6 bears have planned the whole weekend out from Thursday thru Sunday. The events that are planned for the weekend are gonna be wet, wild and woofy! BITS is the 26, 27 and 28th of August. I can't wait!

A night to remember
So last night was the Nor. Cal AIDS ride beer bust/Underwear party. It was off the hook!
Paul and his band of hot woofy raffle sellers did a great job. They raised over $500.00 in less than hour. It was awesome!
The underwear party was great. Not to many people in their underwear but the bar was packed full of hotties and woofy's! The wet underwear contest was funny... and hot. One of the Nor. Cal AIDS riders won that contest.
I looked around the bar to see almost a full house... it was a great feeling of accomplishment I had. I know the next beer bust will be kick ass... it's a toga party! HAWT!

Chicken
I wrote and re-wrote my anti-bitch article several times. The more I wrote, the more pissed I was becoming. After reading it over and over again, I hit me. I was doing the same thing I was accusing others of. So I ditched the articel. Bitching is gonna happen, no matter you where you are. In a club, in a committee, at home, with family, friends, etc. Why add more? So I've decided to let everyone bitch and moan all they want. Nothing I'm gonna say or do is gonna change anything. But, maybe, just maybe, I can defuse a gripe by asking one simple question... "what's your idea?" or "did you want to take it over?" I love that old saying, "If you're not part of the solution... then you're part of the problem"
Words to live by...

It's time...
I'm not any make any friends in months SVB newsletter. I've decided to write a lil something to remind some of the members of the good we've done. It seems some of them only want to bitch, moan, gripe about something. I'm tired of hearing it. I'm a Leo damn it! It's time to roar and let my bitching be heard. What ever the outcome, I'm ready to do what I need to do so that I no longer have to deal with this. I have cancer damn it! I really don't need the added aggravation.

The Furry Valentine
The Furry Valentine beer bust at the Bolt was a success. Many bears far and wide came by to witness the fist of many monthly beer busts at the Bolt. We had it all, a kissing booth, cupids selling raffle tickets, find your valentine contest and the "Furriest Valentine" was crowned. Hosted by Micsha, (Mr. SVB himself), we maintained the "woof! factor" type environment I wanted to set. I got a lot thumbs up from the patrons of the bar, not to mention the bar owner himself. I was glad to see my vision come together and help raise money for the Lavender Library, our local G.L.T.B. resource of information that needs help maintaining all the good it dose for the community.
I will say that A.J. a bartender at the Bolt won the "Furry Valentine" contest. I've had a crush on him for years. To see him topless, let alone grab a hold of his furry chest was a dream come true.

Araghh! Part 2

I hate when people shoot down an idea without even considering the possibilities...
Last weeks meeting was pretty much dominated by allot of NON SVB members who have a ton of negative things to say and almost nothing positive... at all!
People who I hold (now held) in high regard all of a sudden aren't what they appeared to be in the first place. I sometimes wish I wasn't so attached to people, not to mention friends...
I know for a fact that I don't have all the answers as far as the clubs best interests goes, but geez, if someone's gonna trash me or my ideas, at least sit back and see or better yet, ask me what the rhyme to the reason is...
I asked for two votes, one for the cafepress.com proposal (which has 15 yes votes and 0 no votes) and the second is to have our very own SVB 2006 calendar... so far, no one's voted... Then I've set up a monthly beer bust to help out some of our local charities, yeah almost no support... I needed cupids, door monitors, go-go bears... yeah, nuthin...
THEN, I get a knife bigger than Texas lunged into my back by yet another person who I held dear. All I'm gonna say is this year's Lazy Bear committee is going to be interesting...
I know things are getting bad when I have chest pains for most of the night because people like to create unnecessary drama...
I should play "No More Drama" before the next general meeting next month... see if they get the hint...

Opening the polls...

So I decided to use the SVB website to do my dirty work for me. I had the WebCub put up a link on the home page to vote for the merchandising option for the club. Of course you'll need to log in or register to vote...
I'm kinda excited about this because whatever the out come, the Sacramento Valley Bear's roar was heard.
Woof!

Me? Calendar?

So, it was proposed that the SVB do a club calendar for 2006. I guess there was drama last year so the club is kinda sorta hesitant about this calendar. The best thing we have going for us this time around is our current Mr. Sacramento Valley Bear, Mischa, is a photographer and has offered to do the photo shoot for the calendar. It looks to me that the club feels better knowing that a fellow member is doing the photography other than another outside source. (I guess the person before didn't workout so well... anyway...)
Mischa has already started getting "contenders" for this new venture. He wanted to get about 24-30 guys to sign up and then the final 12 will be judged at the Bolt (our own leather/bear bar) by the patrons of the Bolt with a ballot system. The top 12 get their furry chest on the calendar. So far Mischa has got about 15 guys already. Mischa also put my name down... I'm not really sure if guys wanna me see me in a calendar but I guess the votes will tell the tail...
I must say I am very excited about this calendar, I think the Sacramento Valley Bears has allot of WOOF! to offer...

Arahhh!

So last night was another SVB general meeting. I thought I was so prepared and so ready to meet the members this time around. The key phrase being "I thought".
I had so much information to give to the club, that it looked like I was rambling. Not to mention some of the other stuff people where asking me made felt like I was not communicating very well...
I hope this gets better soon, if not I'm gonna have a full head of gray...

The Gathering

So as Vice President of the Sacramento Valley Bears, it's my job to help oversee committees and their issues. I guess it's funny for me cause I'm having trouble myself with my own committees.
I have a total of 4 committees that need a full roster. Lazy Bears alone requires at least 20 committee members. Yeah I have 5. WE are supposed to be meeting ever month and so far, yeah no meeting. Why? No one wants to join. Who can blame them? I mean I too would rather go to Lazy Bear and have fun. But then again, I wanna be apart of something big. And Lazy Bear's big.
After I get my Lazy Bear committee down, I have the Bears In The Sac (BITS) to get started on. This a big deal for the Sacramento Valley Bears because it ends with the crowning on the next Mr. Sacramento Valley Bear. So far I have three people on that committee.
Then yesterday at bowling, I find out that a core club member is taking a year off. Not a big deal right? Well this guy's been in charge of the Lambda Freedom Festival security committee. Now I have another committee to try and get members for.
After the committees are all set, my next phase of sanity is recruiting volunteers for these events. I hope this phase is easier than forming comittees. I think I need a drink.

Me... The V.P.

So this was my first official month as the Vice President of the Sacrament Valley Bears... wow...
The only major change I've done since my term is start a committee to updae or Bylaws... Good thing I have my good friend Ben and fellow board member Steve on this commitee to help me out.
Now, I get to Co-Chair this year's Lazy Bear weekend. I hear it's gonna be a bear... yes that was supposed to be a play on words... Any way... I think it will be great! I mean I would get to help plan events and make sure things get done right... such a leo thing to do if you ask me... it's right up my alley.
Next on my agenda will be the Bears In The Sac. weekend event that takes place the last weekend of August. The guy who's done it for past x-amount of years has given up this event and has handed it over to someone who wants to carry on the tradition... that would be me. Again, planning and follow up... my kinda thing. I only hope I do at least half a decnent job as Ray did (the guy before me)
So there you have it... the last few weeks have been mostly Sacramento Valley Bear related... I'm sure I'll know when enough is enough... like right now... Scott is crying out "where's my fluffy?"... yeah, that's me... time to cuddle with my hubby to be...
woof!
