NEW YORK BABY!!
So, my lil brother Jimmie and I are heading to New York, New York this April. For me, I'm going to NY Con. For Jimmie, he's scouting for his stomping grounds when he's ready for the big move to NYC. I only wish my hubby can come with me... But he may be in Italy... If anyone's heading to NY Con, lets meet up! The closest I've been to NYC is through episodes of Sex and the City...

Lazy Bear! Here We Cum!!
We are off for Lazy Bear in just a few minutes... I am soo excited!! I have to say that this weekend will be a test! I just had 6 more layers of skin removed to see how deep the cancer is, thus I have uber amounts of soreness. I have double duty this weekend. Someone who was supposed to work the bonfires at Lazy Bear backed out, leaving me to run them AND the Headquarters Station for the weekend. But I'm ok with it. This will be the first weekend I won't have cancer on the mind. AND! My berfday's this Monday! AND! I start my new job on Monday!! So this weekend will rock because I will be with my bear-folk, enjoying the furry-ness of it all!.
I'll have pictures of what I see through out the weekend on Monday.
WOOF!

DAY 7
wow. Day 7 is here. It seemed this week went by so fast. I'm kinda torn between emotions right now. I'm happy that i will no longer be getting up evey morning at 3:30 to serve breakfast. I'm happy that I'll be slepping in my own bed and flushing an actual toilet real soon. But then the sadness takes over. I'm sad that i won't see my amazing and supportive food crew. Each one has touched me deeply with their selflessness, compassion and ability to make me feel like laughing. I made some pretty amazing connections. Jessica, Jen, Jeffery/Santa Baby, Darling Nick, Randy, Rannie, Terry, Sandy, Arliene, Britta. lil Nicole, Mary, Lisa, Santiago, Ernie, Claire, Kate. Katie and Suszanne. All have inspired me to sign up for ALC 6 in 07, which I did a few days ago!
BTW, I am so proud of my hubby/ my hero Scott for riding this year. He rode every single mile and has a sore ass to prove it. I have never been more proud of anyone than I have been of him. Who knows, maybe in a few years I'll ride my own bike in ALC 7.

DAY 5
So my redeployment didn't work so well. I was assigned to Imfo Servives and it was like being in high school. I was yelled at by an uber mean lesbian, no one laughted at any of my jokes and no one talked in the info services crew. I will say that the info booth is a huge part of the ride. They know everything, even stuff i didn't know was important, like the nearest Tagret.
after 6 hours of whinning. I was finally reassigned back my food crew! I did the Chubby Mexican dance of joy... AKA the Cabbage Path ch. I have a new found reapect for the info services team... But you have to be apart of the day 1 bonding, In order to fell apart of it.
btw, santa monica is amazing!

DAY 4
I was cut from the food crew last night because some dumptruck stepped on my foot. It was the worst pain ever. But to show awsome the food crew is, they all gave me a round of cheer and hugs when I came back from the ER with my crutches.
I report to info services at 6 am to find out what my next assignment is. I miss the food crew already.

DAY 3
WOW! IT'S ALREADY DAY 3! I blogged yesterday but Moveable Type is not liking my V phone.
Any way, today is great! Folks seem to really appreciate the food crew, even more so at 4 in the morning.
The theme for the ride is "Not another 25 years". 25 years ago yesterday was the fiest time the unknown illness that killed 5 gay men in LA was repoted. It's now called AIDS.
There are a few positive peddlers, people riding with HIV/AIDS that told some pretty amazing stories last night. Their stories confrim my commitment to do what I'm doing now.
Here's to a cure!

DAY 2
I have been up sine 3:30 and have been serving breakfast ever since. Today seems like everyone in the food crew has become a part of my family. Each one of them is sincer, sweet and kind. This really becoming an adventure of a life time!
Tonight is western night, so I'll be in my cowboy gear cheering on the riders on a ride well done!
btw, day two, and three battery bars left on my V phone. I need to find an outlet soon!

WonderCon Part 2 Serenity

Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin and Summer Glau where at the convention to talk about their upcoming film "Serenity". The spin off film from the recently cancelled FOX T.V. show Firefly. Joss and his band of woofy men and sassy lady was the best Q&A I've seen (thus far). You can tell they had a nice re-pore with each other and the friendships that grew form that re-pore made it that more enjoyable to watch them cut each other up.
Nathan Fillion is such a sweet guy, not to mention freaking hot! Adam Baldwin disappointed me cause he was clean shaven, but still nice to look at. Summer looked hot! She looked nothing like her character on Firefly, but she's still shy. You could tell she was not comfortable in the Q&A session. Joss, he's the man. He's got great wit and knows how to handle the "Where's the Buffy spin off!" questions.
Then the preview of the movie was shown. An actual scene of the film I should say. The comedy and suspense is still there. River looks like a bad ass character in the clip they showed. It's about freaking time! I can't wait to see Serenity this year (September'ish) If the movie dose well, Joss promised there will be a sequel.
Here's to Serenity! And to tighter pants for Nathan! And a shirtless costume for Adam! Woof!

WONDER-CON Weekend!!!

This is the weekend every fan boy who lives by the Bay waits for all year long! WonderCon is in San Fran this weekend! This WonderCon is gonna be even more awesome because of all the gay-eye-candy that'll be there. Kevin Smith (who I think is yummy Woof!) and the stars of the late T.V. show soon to be a big screen film Serenity (Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin ... YUMMY!!!) and Julian McMahon (Nip/Tuck... double YUMMY!!!) who's playing Doctor Doom in the up coming Fantastic 4 film will also make an appearance. Not to mention George Lucas will be there to unveil some footage of the upcoming Star Wars film "Revenge of the Sith". Even Paris Hilton's gonna be there! All this for only $15.00 bucks? Man! What a deal!
I'm hoping that Warner Bros. Will be there to talk about the upcoming SUPERMAN film due out next year. I know for a fact that they plan on having some information on the new Batman Begins flick, but alas, no Christina Bale... *sob*
Then I.B.R. is also this weekend! Hot woofy sweaty mens!
I will be in Fanboy/WOOF! Watcher heaven!!!

Going once, Going twice... Sold!

So Saturday night was a "date" auction to help benefit the Lambda Players. I had fun doing it. Before I was put up for auction, I had to go work the crowd for raffle tickets. I didn't do that bad, I did how ever do a lot of crotch grabbing (bonus for me).
Then the auction started. When I first got to the bar, there was 8 of us to be sold off, now there was only 4... We have no idea where the other 4 went too. All the bids started at $10.00 bucks and then be raised every $5.00 bucks. Mischa (Our Mr. Sacramento Valley Bear) convinced me to not go on first, so I asked to go second to last. The first hottie on the auctioning block was in "boxer" gear, HOT. He went for $35.00 bucks. The second hottie was a guy I saw in a play the year before. He did a great job in that play. He too went for $35.00 bucks... Then it was me. I was sold for $45.00 bucks. John (a fellow Sacramento Valley Bear club member) will be taking me home to cook him dinner (to include homemade tortillas). John, if your reading this, be gentle. Our host was the last date on the auction block (he has a NICE muscular body by the way). He went for $40.00 bucks.
All in all, a good clean night of fun and fundraising. I do hope I make John a good $45.00 dinner...

2004, a look back...

As I look back on 2004, I see a huge amount of events that turned out to be life changing. I mean every month, big things happened... Here's a re-cap and I promise to make it short and sweet...
January: Scott told me he loved me the first time and I went back to work for Satan.
February: I had my first Valentine's day with Scott and saw Evanescence and Margaret Cho in concert.
March: Shipped off to South Lake Tahoe for a few months
April: Saw Sarah McLaughlin in concert
May: Moved in to Scott's loft with him and Meet Scott's folks for the first time.
June: Got a new car, went to Great America with the Coster Bears, S.F. Pride, did security for the Lambda Freedom Fair.
July: Woof of steel was born. Went to San Diego Pride, Lazy Bear and (pseudo) camping all for the first time
August: Turned 31 (ugh), ran for Mr. Sacramento Valley Bear and got a P.A.!
September: Proposed to Scott and second season of bowling.
October: Went for real camping, had an angioplasty done, pulled both my wisdom teeth... ON HALLOWEEN!!! and the birth of my new nephew.
November: Saw Diana Ross in concert. Quit the job of Satan, Went back to work for the county, had my first Thanksgiving dinner with Scott, went early "black friday" (day after Thanksgiving) shopping for the first time and was appointed to V. P. for the Sacramento Valley Bears.
December: My first official Christmas with Scott, had lunch with Scott's folks, put off the commitment ceremony till 2006, and had the LOFT warming party.
Wow, what a busy year! I'm sure there was a bunch of other things I might not have put in my recap, but still, what I've done this past year has defiantly made me a better man. I can't wait to see what 2005 brings.

Hot November Nights...

Last night my brother and I went to the bar. I have not been feeling good at all, but I also didn't want to just stay in either. So off to the Depot we went. I forgot how nice it was to be back in the swing of things. I haven't seen my "bar" friends in so long, they thought I moved. I drank only diet pepsi because I didn't want to get worse. As I was watching "Toxic" on the video screen, this really WOOFY guy came over and asked my brother if he and I were a couple (eww), Jimmy said "Eww" and told him that we were brothers. He smiled and introduced himself to me. His name was James. He was visiting the states from London. He had blue eyes and a killer smile. As he was talking I started to wonder if he was wet dream come true. I mean, He had all the things I've dreamed about. Blue eyes, furry chest, unshaven and an accent. God he was hot. He then introduced me to his friend Adam who was as hot as he was, but from Australia. Then Robbie Williams "I Don't Wanna Rock D.J." video came on and James became the biggest girl in the bar. I told James that Scott too was a huge Robbie Williams Fan. "He's got impeccable taste" He says as he winks at me. James shook my hand and took off with the woofy Ausie over to Faces.
The night was great, and I thought it couldn't get any better. Then my former bread man "Dan" came over to me and gave this massive bear hug. I left the restaurant without saying good bye, so he gave me a pointy finger session for that. He told me I looked much happier, and I had to agree with him. He gave some dirt on the place and asked where my other half was. He too left for Faces shortly afterwards. Then a friend of Scott's came over to me and asked where he was at too. I told him he was on a holiday in the mountains. He smiled at me and kissed me... with tongue... EWW! This guy was not very nice to me in the beginning. And he has made it very clear to me that he was still into Scott, so obviously this little greeting took me by surprise. I pushed him away and all of a sudden I could smell the alcohol pouring from his mouth. He apologized and told me that he wanted to me know that he was sorry for mistreating me, all the while his friend was standing behind me. "Well I think there's a Hallmark card for that" I said kinda grumpy/shocked. He laughs and stumbles off. His friend puts his hand on my shoulder and told me that he wont remember anything the next day. He did say that when he gets drunk he becomes this "I'm sorry/truthful"" drunk were he feels he has to make comments and apologize for his past sins. I didn't think there was enough alcohol in the world for that kinda apologetic baptism. I was wrong. Still I had to sorta appreciate the gesture, however morbid.
After that I decided it was time to go home. My night was great and I wanted to quit while I was still ahead. Then a friend of mine who I haven't seen in along time begged to to go over to Faces. My arm was twisted. I danced for like two hours, it was cool. James was there and decided to dance with me. He's got some nice moves. The music was amazing! The D.J. was from New York and man did he know how to control the dance floor. He played a remix of "Somebody Told Me" by the Killers and all of sudden I got sad. My Squishy would've liked that mix. That's when I knew it was time to go. I went to bed holding on to his pillow and fell fast asleep.
That night I learned I can go home again to my single life... for a visit, but nothing feels more like home than in my hubby's arms.
