Small, Small World... Part 2...
A few weeks ago, I posted a story about this friend/co-worker I have who was dating this guy I used to know, and as it turns out, he was a drag queen. You can read more about here
Yesterday, I met my friend for lunch and I asked her how things where going with her new man in her life. She just lit up like a sun and started talking about how great he is. I was kinda feeling sick to my stomach. Many of my readers thought it was responsibility as a friend to tell her the truth out her man. Others said; "It's non of your business". I tried to find the happy medium, and I think I did...
I asked my friend if she had a picture (of her man) I could look at. She pulled out her cell phone and showed me one that was stored in her phone. Mind you, I already had an idea that I was going to have to tell her something about her new boyfriend, but you know what they say, a picture's worth a thousand words...
I say"Uhh... he's in drag..."
"I know! He looks better than I ever will as a woman!" She said with enthusiasm.
"I think I know him, did he used to perform in Midtown?" I ask, trying as to not reveal my prior knowledge of her drag queen boyfriend.
"Yeah, he said he knows you too. He thinks your sweet"
My hear fell.
"Oh, that's... nice" I reply.
"Don't worry, I've known about his past for a while. Right now, it's just fun. No pressure, no drama, just fun."
She also thanked me for being a good friend who put her happiness above all else. It made a bit teary.
We ended lunch with a hug and a stronger friendship.

A happy ending Roque...I am glad yu cared enough to find a happy medium and that it actually worked out short of being direct. Hugs!
