Villains United
This book rocked!
*spoilers*
Gail Simone is a genius! She not only made Catman cool, but she killed of The Fiddler. I thought from the ads about Villains United that it would be all about... well... the Villain's Society. Sorta.
it was more about the Secret Six. And who the hell is Mockingbird? I have a guess that it's that Checkmate chic from the O.M.A.C. Project. I think her name is Sandra Bordeaux? It's great how DC is using their old school, quarter bin titles and turning them into major tie-in's to Infinite Crisis. O.M.A.C.? Yeah he used to be a BAD Mr. T look-a-like. Secret Six? Another comic I would pass up as I rummaged through the 25 cent bins.
DC. You doing great things... Now if we could only change the Rob Liefield thing... Then we'd be in business.

Sean's analysis is VERY interesting - I think he may have a point....it could be Luthor, but I'm thinkin' cause Deadshot's there and Cheshire for that matter, that good ole Amanda Waller is throwing her hat back into the ring...
Just a guess and a hope.

Sean... Marry me!
Truth be told, I've only read some Secret Six, but it always got to confusing for me. I know I'm brightest color in the crayon box. Either way, this Secret Six here has me paying more attention. I'm intrigued by your speculation. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

VU is pretty cool.
The Secret Six has had a few incarnations, but a few things have remained constant:
1. The Secret Six have always, up 'til this incarnation, been normal people with extraordinary skill sets. IIRC, one incarnation had a group of people with disabilities, but who joined the Secret Six to recieve cybernetic enhancements to fix them.
2. The Secret Six have always had a shadowy benefactor named Mockingbird. Much like Charlie from Charlie's Angels, this individual has been an organizer and information broker, but has former the Secret Six to do his/her dirty work.
3. The Secret Six are always extended an invitation that seems like they're being asked, but when one tries to leave, it is revealed that Mockingbird has something to dangle over their heads--jail time, a cure for a disease, death of a loved one, etc. This extortion isn't usually revealed immediately.
4. In past incarnations of the Secret Six, it is leaked that one of the actual members of the Six IS Mockingbird, who uses videos and proxies to appear at two places at once.
If I were to speculate, I think Luthor is the benefactor behond the Secret Six. He let Catman go too easily. Moreover, he let an A-list assassin like Chesire get away with saying no to his Society? That makes no sense to me. Luthor's going to steer the Six to take down the Society after they conquer the world, so that he'll not have to compete with the other bad guys when it comes to dividing the spoils.
All in all, this book is gonna be a fun ride.
